Visit Blue Springs State Park
Blue Springs State Park covers more than 2,600 acres including the largest spring on the St. Johns River. Blue Springs is actually an official Manatee sanctuary and the winter home to an ever-growing population of West Indian Manatees. If you are in the area from Mid-November through March over 100 different "sea cows" can be viewed from the spring's overlooks (especially on cold days).

There are two separate entries to the spring. One is a general area for swimming and floating (floats are available for rent or you can bring your own). The other entry point is closer to the head of the springs where you can actually swim above or dive into the "crack in the earth" which will lead you into the Florida aquifers. Most days you will actually see scuba divers swimming into the springhead quite frequently.
